YAHOO - "Using a new laptop and a satellite link, FBI agents can find out within two minutes whether the fingerprint from a newly captured suspect overseas matches a terrorist database in Virginia. Intelligence officials are running documents in languages such as Arabic through a new computer program called "English Now." It converts the foreign characters into the Roman alphabet and makes words such as Baghdad, President Bush or Osama bin Laden jump out to spies who can't read Arabic."

   From the Pro-Family Law Center: Now these words are officially hate speech-  natural family, marriage and family values.

"The City of Oakland claimed that references to the "natural family, marriage and family values" constituted hate speech which is scary to city workers. United States District Judge Vaughn Walker ruled the city of Oakland had a right to bar two employees from posting a Good News Employee Association flier promoting traditional family values on an office bulletin board... BUT... gay and lesbian city workers had already been using the city's e-mail, bulletin board, and written communications systems for promoting their views to other workers, including the plaintiffs. No action was taken against those responsible for the public attack on the Bible and Christians working for the city."

"Plaintiffs, Regina Rederford and Robin Christy posted the flier in response to an e-mail to city employees announcing formation of a gay and lesbian employee association and other communications."

I find this to be Orwellian.  When government workers are prohibited from using the words "natural family, marriage and family values", and forming a group based on those values, because it is hate speech... we have lost.

    Great column by Walter Williams on Socialized Medicine, specifically the wait times in both Britain and Canada:

• some cancer patients are now having to wait more than eight months for treatment, during which time many of their cancers become incurable
• delays in bowel cancer treatment were so great that, in one in five cases, cancer which was curable at the time of diagnosis had become incurable by the time of treatment
• A Canadian's median wait for an MRI was 10.3 weeks
• Canada - private clinics are not legally allowed to provide services covered by the Canada Health Act

    By now, everyone may have read about what seems to be the blocking of conservative blogs over at the Dept. of the Interior. And it seems that more liberal blogs are still accessible.

 Our theory...  blocking the Internet is usually because of too much time spent browsing and not enough time spent working. Could it be that WE are getting read all day and the lib blogs don't get visited?

Wha' da ya think? This thought process may be due to not enough coffee yet this morning.

Supernote is lower bill

The Daily NK reports  "In order to confirm whether or not recently North Korean counterfeit dollar bills are circulating, DailyNK purchased a super-note from a governmental trader in North Korea again following last January. “The counterfeit dollar bills made in 2001 begin with the serial number ‘C’, and most elaborate ones made in 2003 begin with ‘D’. The counterfeit dollar bills beginning with ‘D’ is most circulating super-notes”. Subsequently, he said that, “Because the U.S plans to issue new 100 dollar bills, the great quantity of the counterfeit dollar bills is very likely to be distributed and circulated”.

Apparently a supernote costs $70 to purchase.  Of interest - in N Korea, these supernotes are called "income currency". The N Korean won (dollar) is so low in value and it takes so many to haul around, merchants have taken to using the counterfeit money because they know the value and it takes fewer to make a transaction.
