Teddy Bear Teacher to be Freed!

teddybear.jpgTwo thoughts. Thank heavens and it's about time. I won't rehash the story except to say it is fortunate the President of Sudan has issued a pardon for the Brtish teacher, Gillian Gibbons, who made the 'mistake' of naming a teddy bear Muhammad.   Religion of peace?

Netherlands enters a third phase of Islamic fundamentalism

islamicflag.jpg

This is interesting... or maybe I should say scary

The AIVD [secret service] concludes that "due to the emergence of the third phase, not only in the Netherlands but also in several neighbouring countries, the radical Dawa has become inextricably part of the Western societies." The Muslims that lead the third phase "no longer operate from a social isolation and are not aiming at confrontation, but more at gradual and sustainable growth of radical Islam in Europe."

The article goes on to say, in essence, that violent fundamentalism alienated people and now this more moderate approach will be more effective in the takeover by Islamic thinkers.

The Muslims that lead the third phase "no longer operate from a social isolation and are not aiming at confrontation, but more at gradual and sustainable growth of radical Islam in Europe."

Latest in Criminal Disguises

burqamug2.jpg
Actually, it's a pretty good disguise for men on the run. NRO notes that

  • "Jamal Abu Jadian, a top Fatah commander, fled his home in the northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening dressed as a woman..."
  • a "suspected murderer of a policewoman fled the [Britain] by disguising himself as a veiled Muslim woman."
  • the "leader of a radical Pakistani mosque was arrested while trying to flee in a woman's burqa."
Gateway Pundit has more.

No Press Limits in Imams' US Air Case

imams.jpg Good news from the Judge. A federal judge overseeing a lawsuit filed by six Muslim men who were removed from a US Airways flight has declined to limit public access to the case.

That's a good thing... and should prove interesting.

When Sharia Law Trumps Constitutional Law

MALAYSIA.jpg

Woman battles against the “forced” conversion of her children to Islam

  • Malaysian couple has two toddlers - they want a divorce
  • Husband converts to Islam several months ago. Appeals to Islamic court for the divorce. Which means he gets the kids.
  • Malaysia has two legislations: Islamic law and constitutional law which often enter into conflict with each other above all in family law cases.  Ethnic minorities such as Chinese and Indians, fall under the jurisdiction of the civil courts.

That's the short version - but doesn't it give you that creepy feeling? Two laws of the land. One constitutional. One Sharia?

I don't think so.

Back British values or lose grants

bigben.jpg And one more indication of the changing tide across the pond.  The Telegraph, yesterday, reported, "Muslim organisations that refuse to defend core British values and fail to take a "pro-active" role in the fight against extremism are to lose access to millions of pounds of Government funding, it was disclosed yesterday."

Sort of a period of awakening, it seems to me. I can't help but think of the US... where if we lose our VALUES, we lose the very core of what make us civil and honorable.
