olmert.jpgSad news for the Israeli PM. Bad news after his predecessor, Sharon, suffered a stroke in 2006. We wish him well.

Hezbollah Fauxtog???

helicoptermatch.jpg

Snapped Shots brought it up and I think he's onto something....

(scroll to the bottom of his page)

He posted the question as to whether the banner used by Hezbollah could be faked (top photo). The exploding helicopter is supposed  to be Israeli.

Below I found what is another similar shot by David Furst, a photographer with many, many photojournalist shots of Israeli soldiers, events, etc. I think they used one of his photos. What you see here in the lower picture is an Israeli medivac - one of Furst's shots. Above, is the Hezbollah banner. The rotor blades are micro-seconds apart in rotation and I am guessing it's another one if Furst's shot that I cannot locate on the web, but it's probably out there. (Furst is not to be assumed AT ALL to making the banner fakery...)

Expert slams MSM coverage of Lebanon-mentions counterfeit money

thumbsdown.jpg

"Middle East analyst Barry Rubin has nothing but disdain for the Western media’s reporting on the region he has spent years studying.  The story in Lebanon was the worst reported story I’ve ever seen.”

  • There are so many inaccuracies… A lot of the reporters have no special knowledge
  • He slammed the western media for accepting uncritically civilian casualty numbers provided by the Lebanese government.
  • He slammed the media for under-reporting stories from Israel and for being taken in by concocted events in Lebanon.
  • I feel we’ll find the whole Qana [incident] never happened.
  • It’s easy to give people money if you printed it yourself,  he quipped, adding that the media could have easily exposed the bogus relief effort had they chosen to.

Gazan Muslims Form Group to Attack Christian Targets

popeeffigy.jpg    "The group, which calls itself the “Army of guidance,” sent an announcement to news agencies based in Gaza saying that “every place relevant to Christians will be a target until the cursed infidel – the Vatican – apologizes to Muslims.”  The chief Islamic Mufti of Jerusalem Mohammed Hussein insisted the Pope himself is responsible for the Muslim violence."  Arutz Sheva

"What does it matter if it is forged?

hezhandout1.jpg In The Jewish Week, out of NYC, there's this interesting perspective from inside Israel.

"Mordechai Kedar, a research associate at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies at Bar-Ilan University, said ... said the speed with which Hezbollah began handing out American dollars to Lebanese who claimed their homes were destroyed in the war is a sign that “Lebanon is becoming more and more dependent” on the Iran-sponsored group.

Asked about reports that the money appeared to be counterfeit, Kedar said: “Iran is known to print American money to undermine the American economy. But if the money can cover the work in Lebanon in order to bring the houses back in shape, what does it matter if it is forged?”

Hello?

From the Begin-Sadat (BESA) Center for Strategic Studies website: Dr. Mordechai Kedar (Ph.D. Bar-Ilan U.) Served for 25 years in IDF Military Intelligence specializing in Arab political discourse, Arab mass media, Islamic groups and the Syrian domestic arena. A lecturer in Arabic at Bar-Ilan U., he is also an expert on Israeli Arabs.

The article talks a little more about the fragile cease-fire.  Snapped Shot picks it up from there on the lifting of the Lebanese  blockade.

IDF Officers May Face War Crime Charges in Europe

 israelflag2.jpg

UNBELIEVABLE.

From Israeli National News: " IDF officers receiving a classified Foreign Ministry memorandum are warned they may face arrest and charges of war crimes in Europe. Israel has learned that certain European and international organizations have already begun working towards compiling cases against IDF officers and government officials, planning to file war crimes charges against them for Israel’s actions in Lebanon. Officers are being warned against visiting Europe as a result."

  • Organizations based in Europe are working in earnest to compile evidence
  • The Foreign Ministry and State Prosecutor’s Office have hired the services of criminal attorneys in Europe
  • Government officials in Israel state that British leaders are troubled by the trend as well, but they explain that the law in Europe permits such actions, based on international law.

IT STARTED WITH...
