Arizona Nuclear Plant on Lockdown
Just coming in on the wires...
PHOENIX (AP) - Security officials at the nation's largest nuclear power plant detained a contract worker with a small explosive device in the back of his pickup truck Friday, authorities said. The worker was stopped and detained at the entrance of the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, said U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission spokesman Victor Dricks. Security officials then put the nuclear station on lockdown, prohibiting anyone from entering or leaving the facility. Authorities described the device as a small capped pipe that contained suspicious residue. More at Breitbart.
"Firecracker" Students denied bail
At last, a wise ruling. The judge in the Goose Creek case denied bail for one of the students, citing a danger to the community and a flight risk. Remember, these were the students who claimed to just have firecrackers in the trunk. More info at MMalkin.

Radioactivity in NJ Probably Nothing
But none the less, did cause bit of a scare last night. Last evening, there was a fender bender in Jersey and a box in the trunk that registered high radioactivity. Apparently this morning, police say the "father of the car's owner" offered police a plausible explanation.Latest in Criminal Disguises

Actually, it's a pretty good disguise for men on the run. NRO notes that
- "Jamal Abu Jadian, a top Fatah commander, fled his home in the northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening dressed as a woman..."
- a "suspected murderer of a policewoman fled the [Britain] by disguising himself as a veiled Muslim woman."
- the "leader of a radical Pakistani mosque was arrested while trying to flee in a woman's burqa."
London Bombing Foiled
Mercedes found in London's Haymarket area outside some nightclubs last night. The car was smoking, when it was discovered... in time for police to defuse it. The car contained petrol, gas cylinders, nails... and could have cause a big explosion and lots of injuries. Reports are also saying the style of the explosive, while not sophisticated, is similar to those used in Iraq. A driver did run off and I'm readingand hearing that perhaps it could have been a suicide bomber or it could have been planned as a remote detonation.
