With a reporter like this, who needs enemies?

"Travelling with the Taleban:  The BBC's David Loyn has had exclusive access to Taleban forces mobilised against the British army in Helmand Province in southern Afghanistan."

You've got a reporter embedded with the Taliban who are fighting the BRITISH!!! Who observes and writes and tells "their" story.

A Tangled Web covers this as well.

Isn't this treasonous? Aiding and abetting the enemy? Isn't this even worse than CNN, who SHOWED a video made by the enemy? This  guy is WITH the enemy.

Check Out New Blog: One Inch at a Time

ONE INCH AT A TIME:
Keeping an eye on events that erode our democracy, values and standards, one inch at a time.

I've started a second blog and hope you'll put it on your list.  It is NOT a replacement for Sticky Notes, but it's like footnotes to the news. A place to record the events that chip away, ONE INCH AT A TIME, at the very glue that holds America (and much of the world) together.

Jack Welch and Partners Ponder Buying the Boston Globe

I heard about this yesterday on FOX and now the WSJ. "Former General Electric Co. Chairman Jack Welch has been talking to a group of Bostonians about the possibility of launching a bid for the Boston Globe, according to people familiar with the matter. Its parent, the New York Times Co., has said the paper isn't for sale."

Now THAT would be interesting. Everyone on the FOX panel were saying private folks are buying papers as a mouthpiece and to make their voices heard. Wonder if a different 'slant' on the news might improve readership??

Back at the Keyboard

Got sidetracked for a day or two there with busy-ness. News kept comin', tho.

Important and not-so-important things to follow:

Drudge Reports:   S.O.S. COURIC: CBS 'EVENING NEWS' PLUNGES TO 7TH PLACE IN TIMESLOT IN LOS ANGELES ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT; BEHIND 'FRIENDS' RERUN, 'KING OF QUEENS', 'MILLIONAIRE'... 1.1 RATING/2 SHARE LOWEST SINCE TAKING CHAIR...

That's pretty bad.

Blue Crab Boulevard:  So Chavez is bowing out of Security Council fight and tagging Bolivia?

We win.

Dumb Still Looks Free:    See the latest Republican TV spots all in one location. I agree that Ali Bubba has the best commentary on this one.

LGF:   "THE nation’s most senior Muslim cleric has blamed immodestly dressed women who don’t wear Islamic headdress for being preyed on by men"

I guess the "just say no" line won't work.

AFL-CIO to Petition U.N. Over Change in Work Rules

nurse.gif The WaPo reports that the AFL-CIO is going to the International Labor Organization of the United Nations about a decision this month by the National Labor Relations Board since they ccan't launch an appeal in our courts.  The issue:  "a federal decision redefining which workers are supervisors exempt from legal protection to join unions... nurses who regularly run shifts at health-care facilities should be considered supervisors and exempt from federal protections that cover union membership."

I get so tired of this "international court" business. WHITUS-SITUS. What happens in the United States, Stays in the United States.

Value Thinking? Dems push to skip work on election day

Ah, jeez. Figures.  Moveon.org is telling folks to skip work on election day in order to make phone call and get out the vote.

"MoveOn.org also noted that 'there's no legal concern with allowing employees to use personal leave or vacation time to volunteer as long as it's in accordance with normal company policy.'

But Brian Darling, director of Senate Relations for the conservative Heritage Foundation, called the idea of asking people to take the day off work "odd."

"Conservatives tend to work and then take some time off to go vote. They wouldn't take the day off to go volunteer their efforts," Darling told Cybercast News Service. "I guess it's a different mentality between conservatives and left-wingers."

New Poll has Corker leading Ford in Tennessee

CORKER LEADING U.S. SENATE RACE BY 7 POINTS

A Wall Street Journal/Zogby Poll released this week shows Bob Corker with a 7 point lead over Washington Congressman Harold Ford. The independent poll has a margin of error of 3.3%.

Poll came out Friday. As a Tennessean, this is welcome news.  AND, after that very interesting confrontation between Ford and Corker at Corker's press conference...  Ford sure looked the fool.
